What a ₹50,000 loan over 12 months would cost
We costed the same loan on each lender’s advertised figures, using the standard reducing-balance EMI formula and adding 18% GST to fees where the lender quotes them before tax. The lowest advertised rate is usually for the strongest credit profiles; many borrowers are offered more.
| Lender | Scenario | Rate a year | EMI | Total interest | Fee incl. GST | Total cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PaySense | Lowest advertised rate | 16.8% | ₹4,555 | ₹4,666 | ₹1,770 | ₹6,436 |
| PaySense | Highest advertised rate | 27.6% | ₹4,816 | ₹7,786 | ₹1,770 | ₹9,556 |
| Moneyview | Lowest advertised rate | 14% | ₹4,489 | ₹3,872 | ₹1,180 | ₹5,052 |
Try your own numbers in our personal loan EMI calculator. For loans quoted only as APR, the APR already includes fees, so the total is an estimate.
Key differences
- Rate: PaySense 1.4% to 2.3% a month (16.8% to 27.6% a year); Moneyview from 14% a year.
- Income bar: PaySense ₹12,000 (salaried) or ₹15,000 (self-employed); Moneyview ₹25,000 household.
- Age: PaySense lends up to 65; Moneyview up to 57.
- Closing early: PaySense allows it after 3 EMIs at 4%; Moneyview charges nothing after a lock-in.
Which should you choose?
PaySense may suit you if you have no credit history, earn under ₹25,000, or are over 57.
Moneyview may suit you if you have a credit score of 650 or more and want the lower starting rate and nil foreclosure charges.
Whichever you pick, compare the APR in the KFS you are actually offered, not the advertised starting rate.
Before you apply
- Find the lender’s name in the app and check it on RBI’s list of digital lending apps or our RBI-registered NBFC search.
- Read the Key Fact Statement (KFS) before you accept. It must show the APR, every fee and the total you will repay.
- Never pay a fee before the loan is disbursed. Regulated lenders deduct fees from the loan or add them to the EMI.
- Apply to one or two lenders, not ten. Each application is a hard enquiry on your credit report.
- Check that the EMI fits your budget with our FOIR calculator.
