Short answer: Banks and large NBFCs advertise the lowest starting rates (about 9.99% to 11%), followed by apps such as KreditBee, Kissht, Freo and Stashfin (about 12%). Payday-style apps start at 35% or more. Starting rates go to the strongest profiles; compare the APR you are offered.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my offer higher than the advertised rate?

Advertised rates are the lowest a lender charges. Your rate depends on your credit score, income, employer and existing loans.

Is a bank always cheaper than an app?

Starting rates are lower at banks, but they lend only to stronger profiles. If you qualify, compare a bank offer first.
