The festive rush ends; the real opportunity begins. The 30 days after Diwali are when a season of strong sales either becomes next year’s credit limit — or evaporates into an unread bank statement. The playbook:

Week 1 (mid-Nov): Reconcile While It’s Fresh

Match three numbers for the festive quarter: bank credits, GST turnover (where registered), and your own sales register. Gaps found now get explanations attached; gaps found by an underwriter get files rejected. Clear supplier dues on schedule — a bounce in the victory lap undoes the season.

Week 2: Document the Spike

Pull the authenticated statements showing the surge. Update the one-page funding note with real numbers: “Oct–Nov revenue ₹X, up Y% on season; digital collections Z%.” Refresh Udyam/GST details, pull promoter and business bureau reports, dispute errors.

Week 3: Repay the Season’s Borrowing Visibly

If you took festive stock financing, sweep it down prominently — a short-tenure loan taken, used and repaid on time is the single best exhibit a seasonal business can show a lender.

Week 4 (December): Apply for the Permanent Limit

With the statement at its annual best, apply for the working-capital limit or OD that funds next Dhanteras at a phone call’s notice. Pick the facility shape deliberately — revolving for seasonal cycles — and run a parallel scheme application (Mudra/CGTMSE) for the cheapest permanent capital.

The One-Line Summary

Festive sales are income once; a festive sales record is credit capacity forever. Spend thirty minutes a week for four weeks, and this season funds the next three.
