Last verified: 4 November 2026 against RBI’s list of Digital Lending Apps (as on 5 October 2026) and each app’s official listing. Ranked by Play Store installs, not by commission.

Short answer: there is no single best loan app. The best one for you is an app on RBI’s list of Digital Lending Apps, backed by a regulated bank or NBFC, that offers you the lowest APR in your Key Fact Statement for the amount and tenure you need. Below are the 33 most-installed apps on RBI’s list, compared on what each one discloses.

Figures are as each app discloses on its official listing, checked October–November 2026. Apps that do not disclose an amount or tenure stay in the list and are marked “not disclosed”. Your actual rate, fees and APR are in the Key Fact Statement (KFS) the lender shows you before you accept.

How to pick the right app for you

  1. Check the app is on RBI’s list and note the lender behind it. Our RBI loan app list covers all 1,041 apps.
  2. Compare APR, not the interest rate. APR includes the processing fee and is worked out on the money you actually receive.
  3. Match the tenure to your budget. A longer tenure means a lower EMI but more interest in total. Short 3–6 month loans often carry the highest APRs.
  4. Read the KFS before you accept. It must show the net amount you receive, every fee, the APR, late-payment charges and the cooling-off period.
  5. Borrow once, not from many apps. Several small loans from different apps cost more, and they can count against you when you apply for a larger loan.

How we built this comparison

We started from RBI’s list of Digital Lending Apps reported by regulated lenders, and kept the apps with 1 crore or more Google Play installs. For each app we recorded what it discloses on its official listing: loan amount, APR, tenure and fees. Where an app does not disclose a figure, we say so rather than estimate it. The default ranking is by installs, and the other sorts use disclosed figures only. Rankings are never paid for.

Questions people ask

Which loan app has the lowest interest rate?

The lowest rate an app advertises is the best case for its strongest borrowers. Use the “lowest starting APR” sort above to shortlist, then compare the APR in the KFS each lender actually offers you.

Are these loan apps RBI approved?

RBI does not approve apps. Every app in this table appears on RBI’s list of Digital Lending Apps reported by regulated banks and NBFCs. Open any app’s page to see the lenders behind it.

Which loan app is best for a low credit score?

Many apps lend to lower scores at higher APRs. Compare the APR and total cost carefully, and read our Which loan app? guides by need and amount.

Is it safe to take loans from several apps at once?

It is risky. Each loan adds fees and a new due date, and many recent enquiries and small loans can make larger loans harder to get. If you already have several, consider one consolidation loan.
